Position Summary

This paid internship position assists the Mission Advancement Manager particularly with duties related to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) and Catholic Relief Services (CRS). This position is funded and approved by the USCCB’s Catholic Campaign for Human Development as part of their paid intern program and is funded by a grant through CCHD. The internship involves 14-16 hours per week of in-person, Grand Rapids based work for 24 weeks of the 2024-2025 school year.

 

This is a paid part-time Internship position.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attendance at mandatory orientation hosted at USCCB offices in Washington D.C. – May 28th-31st 2024 (All expenses for this trip including travel, room and board will be paid for by CCHD)
  • Promotion of the CCHD Annual Collection
  • Promote the national and local work of CCHD to stakeholders in our Diocese
  • Develop and implement local CCHD social media strategy
  • Foster relationships with current and prospective grant recipients, schedule site visits and highlight their work and that of CCHD through social media and other media.
  • Coordinate and host annual pre-grant application information webinar
  • Coordinate creation of CCHD and CRS parish ambassador programs
  • Project monitoring and evaluation of CCHD grants
  • Co-facilitate training on Catholic Social Teaching and its connection to CCHD at local parishes and groups
  • Co-host annual grant recipient networking breakfast
  • Assist in promotion of CRS Rice Bowl and CRS Annual Collection

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Practicing Catholic in the Diocese of Grand Rapids
  • Ability to attend mandatory orientation hosted at USCCB offices in Washington D.C. – May 28th-31st All expenses for this trip including travel, room and board will be paid for by CCHD.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in office software tools including: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel
  • Ability to work independently as well as in partnership with team members
  • Organized and possesses the ability to multi-task

Recommended Employment Qualifications

Education:

Minimum of one year of post-secondary education in theology, social work, politics, social justice studies or other related majors preferred.

 

 

Experience:

1 year experience in ministry or part-time volunteering preferred.

Bilingual candidates preferred.

None required.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
