Position Summary

The Marketing Communications Specialist is a pivotal role in positioning Catholic Charities West Michigan (CCWM) as a quality provider of family services and an organization worthy of support. The position is responsible for developing and executing the annual marketing communications plan from ideation to execution and mobilize influencers both internally and externally to engage with and support the agency.

 

Annual Salary Range: $44,100.00 - $56,350.00

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Develops and implements marketing communication program from concept to valuation with outcomes designed to create favorable change and forward thinking.
  • Works to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and define strategies to leverage with positive outcomes.
  • Provides guidance to subject matter experts on marketing and communications strategies.
  • Manage all communications lists.
  • Serves as liaison to agency association relationships.
  • Implements and manages social media programs and social PR outreach.
  • Writes content for social media, website, whitepapers, presentations, videos, email blasts, direct mail.
  • Manages website maintenance outside of copywriting, including; design, layout, programmatic updates, and form building.
  • Writes and executes timely press releases in coordination with fundraising events, community outreach events, and new programs.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for public relations; identifying and executing opportunities whereby the agency can be featured in the press.
  • Responsible for the creation of graphics and design layouts for print ads, flyers, emails, website, and social media.
  • Produces staff and agency newsletters, financial impact reports and others as needed.
  • Measures the impact of marketing communications annual plan, appeals and other measurable vehicles.
  • Attends and supports events outside of philanthropy including, but not limited to; mobile diaper distributions, coat drives, and God's Roamin' Kitchen.
  • Drives for Agency business.
  • Performs other special assignments at supervisor’s request.

  • Knowledge of basic Marketing principles.
  • Knowledge of related social media and website platforms.
  • Ability to maintain a high level detail and accuracy.
  • Adherence to professionalism and confidentiality.
  • High level of energy, creativity and flexibility; driven to succeed.
  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.
  • Sincere relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to meet goals through collaboration both internally and externally.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Preze, Adobe, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Recommended Employment Qualifications

Education:

 

Bachelor Degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Communications (or a related field) is required.

 

Experience:

 

Minimum of one year of relevant marketing, communications, branding experience ideally within the nonprofit and/or social services arena.

 

Prior work experience with social media management and campaigns (Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Linked In, etc.) is strongly preferred.

 

Proficient in Adobe, Illustrator and other like programs is recommended.

 

Prior work experience in website management in highly preferred.

 

Writing press releases, white papers, collateral content and scripting is preferred.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

This position requires a valid driver’s license.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:
