Position Summary

The Unaccompanied Children (UC) Transitional Foster Care (TFC) Program Lead Clinician/Lead Case Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing clinical and case management services, trains and supervises clinical and case management staff to ensure adherence with job responsibilities, training, agency expectations, and provide a positive work environment, while effectively maintaining a client caseload. This position is responsible for coordinating case management and safe and timely release services and ensuring that case managers complete relevant training on child welfare topics.  This position is also responsible for training and supervising the clinician and case manager staff.  This position ensures that child-facing services are provided on-site and in a confidential manner.

 

Wage: 66,300.00-$78,000.00 annually

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that child-facing services are provided on-site and in a confidential manner.  
  • Conducts weekly supervision meetings with clinician and case manager support staff to ensure adherence to the expected job responsibilities, provide feedback, and lend support.
  • Provides coverage support for clinician and case manager staff within the program, as needed.
  • Facilitates training for case support, clinician, and case manager staff related to case management services for client's educational, therapeutic, medical, and legal needs.
  • Maintains and update the TFC documents and forms, as necessary to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Creates and implements new staff training for case support, clinician, and case management staff, as needed.
  • Maintains a caseload in compliance with contract terms and agency expectations.
  • Participates in client file reviews, as needed.
  • Attends TFC supervisors team meetings based on relevancy.
  • Partners with TFC supervisory team in assessing the fidelity of policy.
  • Implementations of case management and case support teams on an on-going basis.
  • Provides informal peer-to-peer mentorship to new case managers to include but not limited to providing encouragement, while also promoting positivity, accountability, and modeling professional demeanor.
  • Oversees the case support, clinician, and case manager staff training completion compliance in accordance with Catholic Charities West Michigan (CCWM), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
  • Ensures that the clinician staff complete relevant training on evidence-based practices in mental and behavioral health care delivery.
  • Effectively promotes the Sanctuary model of care within case management and case support teams.
  • Attends weekly program meetings to consult on cases, and to review case plan and direction.
  • Stays up to date on contractual, accreditation, and agency policies and procedures.
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-ate information on clients in care while meeting ORR and CCWM's documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Stays abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services.
  • Drives for agency business.
  • Performs other special assignments at supervisor’s request.

  • Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to relate to diverse populations and cultures while communicating with clients and the public in a courteous and effective manner.
  • This position requires reliable transportation. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record with zero work restrictions.
  • Must have personal auto insurance as required by law with minimum bodily injury coverage limits of $250,000 per person/$500,000 per incident or $500,000 combined. 
  • Must be willing to work irregular hours including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • This is an on-site role that requires regular, full-time attendance at the office; remote or hybrid work is not available, however, there may be times ad hoc or situational telework is needed.
  • Successfully pass an annual TB test and document preference to receive or decline Hepatitis immunization.
  • Documentation of immunity to vaccine preventable diseases or the willingness to receive vaccination or seek an exemption.
  • Must submit to agency approved background checks.

Work Environment:

 

This position is primarily office based, however, on occasion it may require travel to other agency as required by position responsibilities and/or agency management.  The position is on-site — must be willing to work entirely in person, however, there may be times that ad hoc or situational telework is needed. This position will be routinely exposed to typical office noise levels and/or exposure to various weather conditions.

Recommended Employment Qualifications

Education:

 

  • A master’s or doctorate degree in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling, or another relevant behavioral health discipline is required from an accredited program, university, or college where clinical experience is a program requirement.

 

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience in child and family services is required with minimum of 2 of those years being post-graduate direct service delivery.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English fluency is strongly preferred.

Professional Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • A valid and active professional license to provide clinical services in the state where the care provider is located is required.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certified upon hire or within 60 days of hire is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
